A ceramic artist who hails from Norfolk, Nebraska and teaches pottery classes at Wayne State College and Northeast Community College. Leroy von Glan’s constructs functional forms with high fire stoneware, raku, or porcelain clays, as well as non-classical and novel variations. No matter the style or the make, the ceramic artist’s primary goal for each piece of his work is to be functional—but with a twist. The simplicity and the complexity of clay is what keeps Leroy engaged in ceramics.
